The internet is having a field day with Resident Evil’s newly unveiled villain, the nine-foot-tall aristocratic vampire Lady Alcina Dimitrescu. The undead goliath has been a major player in generating hype for the upcoming Resident Evil Village, but Capcom may yet find itself in hot water, legally speaking. DeviantArt user SonicMaster6699 has filed a class-action lawsuit alleging that Lady Dimitrescu is in fact based on his original character (or “OC”), Duchess Vampirilla.
“Lady Dimitrescu shares such specific similarities with Duchess Vampirilla that it’s difficult to tell them apart,” the lawsuit reads. “Capcom blatantly plagiarized the character’s height, as well as her spooky yellow eyes, the fact that she’s a vampire, her aged white dress, and perhaps most importantly, her great tits.”
DeviantArt, the platform SonicMaster6699 used to publish art of Duchess Vampirilla and his other Freudian expressions, was accessed by our nervous investigative team through the use of Tor, a VPN, and an air-gapped laptop from the Nerfwire office. “Just type it exactly like that—that’s right, SonicMaster6699,” says our chief editorial investigator, Ed Wallace. “One typo and we could see some shit that’ll send us all to therapy. Take your time typing.”
The suspiciously wealthy independent artist has chosen not to go public with his true identity, leading some to speculate on where he acquired the funds to go up against a major international corporation. He has also issued the following public statement on DeviantArt: “For eight years now, I’ve brought only the highest quality femdom giantess sexy dommy mommy milkers Pikachu vore content to my 254 followers. Capcom should be ashamed for trying to capitalize on my unique legacy.”
Capcom did not respond to our inquiries but is expected to settle.
